MasterCard has revealed a major expansion to its Masterpass digital wallet service that will allow customers to pay in-store using contactless technology.
Just launched in the US and due to expand into Europe, Africa and the Middle East in 2017, the changes mean Masterpass will work on Smart phones, wearable payment devices and tablets, giving customers the option to pay online or in person with just one touch.

A select group of Olympic and Paralympic athletes competing in Rio will be able to make payments at the touch of a finger thanks to NFC-enabled rings from Visa.
The prototype NFC payment rings will be given to 45 Visa-sponsored athletes to use across the city. The rings are water resistant to a depth of 50 metres and include a secure microchip with an embedded NFC-enabled antenna.
